ABOUT US:

The Juneteenth Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to uplifting and empowering high school students of color. We provide scholarships, mentorship, educational resources, and host community events such as our annual Backpack for Empowerment and Juneteenth Celebration. 

Our Mission: 

Our mission is to inspire the next generation by creating opportunities for academic success, cultural pride, and community leadership. 

Programs & Impact

Scholarships:
We look to assist students by providing financial support for high school seniors of color pursuing higher education.

Mentorship & Student Leadership:
Through initiatives like The Collective, we connect BSU/YBS clubs across districts, empowering student leaders with mentorship, collaboration, and cultural pride.

Academic & Community Support:
Backpack for Empowerment (100 backpacks + free haircuts in 2025) and future drives to ensure students have the tools to succeed.

Cultural Celebrations:
Hosting annual Juneteenth celebrations, movie nights, and multicultural events that highlight African American history, resilience, and legacy.

Teen Ambassador Program:
Launching in 2026 to give students hands-on leadership opportunities in planning events, community outreach, and advocacy.

Long-Term Impact & Partnerships:
By blending education, culture, and community service, we build a lasting legacy of empowerment and equity for students of color. Additionally, we look to build long lasting partnerships with other nonprofit organizations to better serve our students within different communities.
